Time Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential People of 2020

With a global pandemic going on and stuck in quarantine for most of the year, TIME Magazine has recently released the top 100 most influential people of 2020. This long list includes many talented artists such as The Weeknd, Tyler Perry, and Megan Thee Stallion.

The Weeknd

Congratulations to The Weeknd for all his achievements in 2020.  He worked hard and earned a spot on the Billboards Hot 100’s. Not only that, he broke the record for the most consecutive weeks on the charts, which was a total of 28 weeks.

During these times with racial injustices, protests, and cop brutality, he took the time during his VMA acceptance to speak up on this very real and sad topic. He spoke about many of the deaths due to hatred and police brutalities like Breonna Taylor and Jacob Blake.

Tyler Perry

For Tyler Perry, this year has been quite a great one. Perry earned the Governor’s Award at this year’s Emmy Awards. He was also announced on Forbes as Hollywood’s newest billionaire. Oprah Winfrey and many others have publicly congratulated Perry on his success.

Winfrey even took the time to pay tribute to the star. “There’s no one else like him. In the entertainment business and in life. He’s a true visionary. A trailblazer.” Oprah says.

Megan Thee Stallion

This year was Megan Thee Stallions’ time to shine. “It’s invigorating to see her become a platinum-selling artist with the viral hit ‘Hot Girl Summer’ and multiple No. 1 songs in the past year, ‘Savage’ and ‘WAP.’ But you would be a fool to think that’s all there is to her. She’s deep,” stated actress Taraji P. Henson.

No matter what happens, Megan always manages to push through and come back harder and stronger. Meg suffered the loss of her mother, father, and grandmother. It was also reported earlier this summer that Megan was allegedly shot in the foot by rapper Tory Lanez.

Times Top 100 Others

TIMES Magazine also includes others such as Gabrielle Union, Dwayne Wade, and Michael B. Jordan as their 100 Most Influential People. DirtySouthHipHop would like to congratulate everyone on their success!!
