T.I. And 50 Cent Link Up For New TV Series

T.I. and 50 Cent have teamed up to tell the story of the first “Hip-Hop Cop.”

Following a summer of light hearted internet beef, T.I. and 50 Cent are coming together to tell the story of Derrick Parker, NYPD’s First “Hip-Hop Cop.” Derrick Parker worked on some of the biggest criminal cases in rap history including the Biggie, Tupac, and Jam Master Jay shootings. The show, titled “Twenty Four Seven,” will stream on CBS All Access. T.I. is set to star with 50 Cent executive producing under his G Unit Film & Television banner.

Both rappers shared the news via Instagram. “We been looking for something BIG enough to do together for a while now … It’s TIME‼” said T.I.

The new cop show is the most recent addition to T.I.’s acting resume. He has previously been featured in Marvel’s “Ant Man” and its sequel, “Dolemite Is My Name”, and TV shows “Genius,” “The Breaks,” and “House of Lies.”

“It took a long time, but thank God it’s going to television,” said Parker, who co-wrote the autobiographical book the show will be based on. “I think it’s great [T.I. will play me in the show]. I think he’ll have a chance to see what kind of person I am, and I think he’ll like me. He’ll see how I am—everybody’s not bad cops. With everything that’s going on with cops, people think that all cops are bad. And he’ll see me, and he’ll see a different side of how the police really work.”

T.I. hits the studio with Young Thug.

In other T.I. news, the trap legend has allegedly recorded an “instant classic” with Young Thug. The pair have previously collaborated on the Bankroll Mafia collective, which released a self titled album in April 2016. “Oh Nvm us…just a couple Kings plottin global domination,” T.I. told Instagram, with images of the recording session. “Boyyyyy when I tell you me & slime got some shit comin…. ya besst believe it JACK‼” He went on to add the hashtags “Instant Classic” and “Another One” so expect some music from the pair soon.
